SWMSSrinivas Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd.Industry
About SWMS
Srinivas Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (SWMS) is an Indian industrial partner and SME with over 22 years of experience in waste management and waste-to-energy. Established in 2003, SWMS develops solutions for collection, transportation, processing and valorisation of municipal solid waste and operates biomethanation and Bio-CNG facilities, including the first MSW-based Bio-CNG plant in Tamil Nadu.
Through its BIGBIN logistics arm, SWMS uses app-based waste collection, tracking and source-segregation systems. With more than 8,000 employees and an extensive fleet, the company handles approximately 2,000 tonnes of waste per day for urban local bodies and has undertaken major bio-mining and landfill-reclamation projects.
Role in the BHARAT-EU Project
SWMS serves as a key industrial partner for the Indian process branch, managing the front end of the biowaste-to-hydrogen value chain. It co-leads WP2 (Feedstock Assessment) and is responsible for systematic characterisation of biogenic municipal waste, including composition, availability and throughput profiles using a digital app-based monitoring interface.
SWMS will also design, construct and operate a TRL5 solid-state anaerobic digestion demonstration system incorporating a CSTR of up to 5 m³ and a dedicated biogas-purification line to produce >90% methane-rich biomethane suitable for downstream plasma pyrolysis. Leachate recirculation and digestate reuse support process stability, resource efficiency and scalability.
